Maternity tourism

Also known as birth tourism, maternity tourism is the act of travelling to a foreign country to give birth to a baby so the newborn would then become a citizen of the destination country. This only applies to certain countries, depending on the citizenship laws.

Maternity tourism seems to be on the rise in the United States, with mothers coming over from China and Taiwan in particular to provide more opportunities for their newborns.
