Ionska jednadžba je uravnotežena kemijska jednadžba u kojoj se jaki elektroliti pišu kao disocirani ioni. Na primjer, Ag+(aq) + NO3-(aq) + Na+(aq) + Cl-(aq) = AgCl(s) + Na+(aq) + NO3-(aq) je ionska jednadžba; AgNO3(aq) + NaCl(aq) = AgCl(s) + NaNO3(aq) nije.
