A change in aspect ratio. Anamorphic lenses sometimes squeeze a widescreen scene by a factor of two horizontally, so it will fit on a 1.33:1 aspect ratio frame. In projection, another anamorphic lens “expands” the squeeze (squeezes vertically) to restore the original aspect ratio.
