A polygon with notches or concave areas along its perimeter (as opposed to convex polygon). A five-pointed star is an example of a concave polygon.
To determine if a polygon is concave, apply the rubber band test. If an imaginary rubber band placed around the outside of a polygon would not touch all sides, then the polygon is concave. Concave polygons must be triangulated (formed into various triangles) before they can be rendered.
Industry:Software
In rendering, a window that provides node network information in a side-by-side layout where you can view two connected nodes in a node network.
This editor is useful for fine-tuning a shading network. Use it to make non-default connections, to traverse nodes to view their inputs or outputs, or to make connections going in either direction of the network. Also known as parameter wiring.
Industry:Software
In animation, an object whose attributes are restricted in some way by constraints.
Industry:Software
In animation, a restriction of the position, orientation, or scale of an object.
Industry:Software
In modeling, saved information about how an object was created. For example, the original curves or surfaces used to create a surface. By default, a surface with construction history is displayed in dark pink. Also known as modeling relation.
Industry:Software
In modeling, a plane used as an aid when creating objects not necessarily aligned to the XYZ orientation. When you make a construction plane live, all new curves and objects are snapped to that plane.
Industry:Software
A special node that encapsulates a set of internal nodes and lets you publish select attributes of those internal nodes.
Industry:Software
An XML file that stores a container's published attribute names and lets you create a common user interface for assets.
Industry:Software
The creation of simple contour lines during non-photorealistic rendering, using standard shading and lighting workflow. To control contour rendering, define the color and width of lines in the Shading Group and Render Settings windows.
Industry:Software
In painting, curves that are associated with strokes. You can set stroke tubes to follow or be attracted to control curves, for example if you want to simulate lightning.
