Company Profile:
A spatial deformation algorithm that takes objects located within the base (undeformed) lattice and maps them into the space of the deformed lattice shape.
Industry:Software
A technique for managing complex scenes that allows the assembly of multiple objects, shading materials, animation, etc. into a scene without importing the files into the scene. The contents that appear in the scene are read or referenced from pre-existing files that remain separate and unopened.
Industry:Software
A three-dimensional random function with a particular frequency distribution (a fractal). Fractal textures are useful for simulating many natural phenomena, such as rock surfaces, clouds, or flames.
Industry:Software
A tubular sheath that encases the lower part of the hair shaft. Each follicle contains one NURBS curve that represents the position of the hair in that follicle. Each follicle also has a hair clump (strokes) containing information about the color and shading of the hair.
Industry:Software
A type of multiple software license that is served from one license server machine to other machines over a network. See the Installation and Licensing Guide for details.

A variable you can use to keep track of a condition in your application. In Maya, you need to define both short flags and long flags. Short flags are three letters or less; long flags are four letters or more.
Industry:Software
A volume of space that includes everything that is currently visible from a given camera viewpoint. A frustum is defined by six planes arranged in the shape of a pyramid with the top chopped off. If a point is inside this volume then it is in the frustum and it is potentially visible (if not obscured by another object). If a point is outside of this volume then it is outside the frustum.

A way to pose and animate biped or quadruped characters. Instead of using single IK handles for each limb, FBIK allows you to translate and rotate parts of your character's body (such as limbs) and have the rest of the character's body follow those movements. For example, if you animate the arm of a character reaching for a cup on a table, the torso will follow the movements of the arm.

FBX
Autodesk FBX is a free platform-independent 3D authoring and interchange format that provides access to 3D content from most 3D vendors and platforms. The FBX file format supports all major 3D data elements, as well as 2D, audio, and video media elements. The FBX translator plug-in allows Maya to read and write the latest version of FBX files. This plug-in is installed automatically with Maya, and is loaded by default on startup.

ELF commands are commands added to MEL that create custom interface elements.
